Good game by Frost on both sides of the puck. I thought Tort's post comments were interesting, and its not the first time he has said this about Frost. My take from what he has said is the organization had pretty much given up on Frost coming into this season. This is based on what Torts has said he was told about Frost when he came here, also noting he did not know anything about Frost before coming here. Torts again mentioned at the start the season Frost still had a lot of work to do on the defensive side of the puck and this has steadily improved as the year has gone along. Torts has also mentioned a couple of times now he wants to be fair to Frost, so to me that means Torts has fought to give Frost a legitimate chance this year to work with the coaching staff and get his game where it should be. It seems to me that Torts has given him that chance and Frost is making the most of it. If Frost does become part of the core of this team, I think Torts and his staff deserve the majority of the credit.

The team struggles to score goals and Frost is possible a 20+ goal scorer with skilled linemates and torts still complains about little nitpick poop that has nothing to do with skill

Last week there was no way Frost would be a Flyer next season

I feel like Frost is doing what he did last season on a line with Cates and Tippett. The games don’t mean anything anymore and now he’s emerging as our best player. It’s the exact reason why people felt Cates was guaranteed a roster pot, even before Torts knew who he was.

Frost is a very talented player but I’m hoping his current play carries over with much bigger steps from start to finish for next season.

Didn't you hear? The Flyers are not tanking since there are hockey Gods that must be respected. The Flyers value growing their current crop of kids over getting a 2 or 3% higher chance of winning the lottery. I have mixed feelings about this because my biggest fear is the Flyers become the Columbus Blue Jackets, a team with some skill and that plays the right way, maybe even wins a playoff series, but does not have enough top end talent to be more. The only chance it seems the Flyers will have is to hit on their lower picks, and the odds of that are obviously lower. But see Tampa and Carolina as teams that have drafted and development wisely, Aho a 2nd round pick, Point a 3rd round pick.

I didn't state my opinion here, I just stated my read on what Torts is thinking about Frost based on what he has been saying about Frost recently, since he has been asked frequently about Frost these past few weeks.

Well last night Frost centered Allison and Lemieux, not what I would called the most skilled wingers. Also Frosty was not playing against a good team last night. Let's see how he does when the Flyers play Ottowa, Dallas and Boston coming up.

bill,

with the speculation of us trading hart and the strange predicament Fedotov is in. Do the flyers get any extension for Fedotov as he was forced to enlist? how does this impact his contract and status?

I was looking forward to this year with the massive goalie coming over as he has had great numbers in the khl.

Legit question. Why is it seemingly every point he produced this year have an asterisks? He has been scoring at a good clip for close to 50 games now. He was the best player on the ice last night. That is always a good thing regardless of opponent....right? He has improved a good deal this year. I am happy with that. Not sure why some folks aren't. Or seemingly aren't.

since lemieux has joined us he and frost have played well together. i just want him to play every game like last night on both sides of the puck. if he gets more consistent in his own end he will be fine. jvr can't keep up with him. farabee and cates have defensive responsibilities with tip being the offensive aggressor on that line.

I'm laughing hysterically. Your take on this is that the organization had pretty much given up on Frost coming into this season? There is tons of information that tells you that is wrong. Unbelievable.

Hart with yet another LBI late in the season. Makes me wonder if we can count on him in a couple years when we need him down the stretch and we’re vying for a playoff spot! Torts is playing mind games with frost. I trust the coach knows what he’s doing as he knows the players behind the scenes and how to push them. After all, he’s had HOF players on his roster in the past.

Your read on what Torts is thinking is laughable and yes, it was your opinion that Frost would not be a Flyer next season. Just like it was your opinion that Frost is an AHL player.

This is following the familiar course with your posting. We will soon reach the phase where you praise Frost as if you knew it all along. Followed by your chastising anyone who criticizes Frost.

And right on cue the flyers go on a draft position crushing win streak. So predictable. Where was this level of play when they had enough time to make a serious run at the playoffs? This team is beyond frustrating! 😠😡🤬

How about the 15 points he has put up in 13 games against Minn, Car (2), Vegas, TBL (2), Sea, LA, Wpg(2), NYR, Col and NJD. All playoff teams. Does any of that count?

He has 38 points in 72 games. Not terrible but not great. He’ll need to take bigger steps next season. The linemates complaint is a none issue. I think everyone has played with everyone at some point this season. He especially so with Tippett and a lot of time with JvR.

It could very well be a situation where if it was an important game, he would've played. That he was a late scratch suggests that may be the situation.

but linemates are an issue, for all on this team, unless you were Cates and put with 1st/2nd line talent

I said coming into the season, if Frost and Tippett broke 40 points, on this team, it would be a very good season. It appears both will, hats off to them.

Now a step forward, they both need to break 50 next season

side- Allison, that guy needs a goal, Frost could have had 2-3 more points if Allison could close
